Birth of Kartal

My brother Kartal saw the light of the world on 11th October 2017 at 12:20pm. The day started very early for us – at 3am we were already in the hospital, as the contractions had already begun. After 3 hours, around 6am, the amniotic fluid has burst, but our little one still didn’t want to come. After 9 hours it was finally time, my brother was born. I was in the full birth phase. Kartal his father cut the umbilical cord and we smear holy water and some dates on his lips. He weighed 3500 g and was about 55 cm tall. He was so clean and pure – no blood at all was on the skin – which I didn’t think. Of course that was a great pleasure to me, because I usually disgust me with something like that.

It was hard times for all of us, that through the pure writing, the emotions can’t really be described. However, I want to tell you one thing: appreciate your mothers! No matter how much they upset you sometimes. It isn’t easy to bring a child into the world and to educate this child.

Kartal is now 19 days young. Two days ago, his umbilical cord fell off. We already realize that he loves swimming as much as I do. Since he’s a very calm baby and hardly weeps (except occasionally screams :)), we prefer as a family no pacifier, because the pacifier isn’t good for the teeth later. For religious reasons, but also for health reasons, we shaved off his hair a few days ago. The reason for this is that the ingested vitamins shouldn’t be wasted in his hair. After each breastfeeding, the baby should make peasant leaves; otherwise the baby will become restless and may develop flatulence. Don’t worry if your baby squint, that’s normal for a baby. With time, this disappears, because he looks at his nose because everything is new for him and he goes on a discovery tour. After the 40th day we have to have it cropped – the younger the better. The circumcision will be made for religious and hygienic reasons. Many doctors recommend circumcision, especially for hygienic reasons. There were many requests regarding the cot and his clothes. His bed and shower kit are all from Turkey. His whole care products are from Germany. The clothes of him are from everywhere.

I’d like to mention that having a brother is a great feeling, because my wish was always to get a brother. No matter how bad your day goes by, as soon as you see him, he makes all worries disappear. That’s what I love about him. In my opinion, as a big sister you’ve a lot of responsibility. You don’t want him to make the same mistakes you made back then. But it’s like that – you learn from the mistakes. You can tell them a lot, but you should also leave a lot of freedom for the children to learn from their mistakes themselves. As a sister, you want to protect him from all evil and you want to be his reference person, his first port of call in case of problems. You want to share everything, bad as well as good things. In the past, I always envied siblings in one thing, and no matter how hard they argued, the bond is so great and strong that they can always reconcile. This isn’t the case with friendship. One more little advice from me, trust your siblings more than your friends, because family always stays.
